The Diamond Star, Maricel Soriano still has the powerhouse acting in her hands after years of hiatus from acting as she won the most Coveted Award in MMFF 2011. She was proclaimed as Best Actress for her role in the movie Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow last night at Resorts World in Pasaya, December 28, 2011.
Hindi dumalo sa awards night ang Diamond Star pati na ang iba pang cast members ng pelikula.
Nakisimpatiya si Maricel sa producer nilang si Lily Monteverde ng Regal Entertainment dahil sa desisyon ng festival committee na i-disqualify ang Yesterday Today Tomorrow sa apat na major categories: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, at Gatpuno Villegas Cultural Award.
Ito ay dahil sa paglabag diumano ng pelikula sa rules ng MMFF kaugnay ng pagpapalit ng isinumiteng script nito.
Ang mga nakatunggali ni Maricel sa kategoryang ito ay sina Judy Ann Santos para sa My Househusband, Ai-Ai delas Alas para sa Enteng Ng Ina Mo, at sina Eugene Domingo at Maricar Reyes para sa kani-kanilang episodes ng Shake Rattle & Roll 13.
