But in a taped interview with Entertainment Live last November 30, Matteo refused to confirm anything since he has yet to talk to Maja about their relationship problems. "Nagulat nga ako, ang bilis lang kumalat ng mga maliliit na stories. I haven't spoken to her, she's busy pa and we have to talk pa."
Matteo maintained that all is well between Maja and him. Even if they sometimes go through a rough patch, it doesn't necessarily mean they're going to break up. "But anyway, okay naman ang lahat. We have arguments but that's normal in any relationship.Wala, I won't confirm anything. Nothing, nothing...Siyempre, may mga problema, hindi maiwasan yun.But I'm sure Maja and I will fix whatever it is. Nothing to worry about." He added that his feelings for Maja remain the same despite the persistent intrigues about their relationship. "Oo naman, she knows that. She knows how much I love her."
Contrary to Matteo's statement, however, Maja posted a message on her Twitter account, saying, "It's over." Many of her friends as well as her fans reacted to her telling statement, but the young actress didn't elaborate. Maja also made it clear that she would rather not comment on the issue when Push.com.ph and other ABS-CBN reporters caught up with her during the story conference of Lumayo Ka Man Sa Akin last December 1.
