Showbiz News: MMFF 2011 Box Office Ranking As of Jan. 1!

When the 37th Metro Manila Film Festival kicked off on December 25, 2011, Vic Sotto and Ai-Ai de las Alas of Enteng ng Ina Mo emerged as the frontrunners of the annual event that aims to boost the Filipino movieindustry. According to the MMFF executive committee under the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the said fantasy-comedy film grossed P91.89 million during the first three days of the festival. As of January 1, 2012, Enteng ng Ina Mo is still in the lead with its box-office figure of P183.2 million.

Here is the Box Office ranking as of Jan. 1, 2011:

Ai-ai, Natupad Ang Wish, Nanalong Best Actress sa MMFF 2010

Masayang-masaya si Ai-ai delas Alas at natupad ang wish niya ngayong taon. Hiniling niyang manalo ng Best Actress para sa huling installment ng Ang Tanging Ina Mo: Last Na To, at ito naman ay dininig ng mga hurado sa ginanap na 2010 Metro Manila Film Festival.

Umuwing luhaan bagamat napanalunan ni Ai-ai ang Best Actress trophy noong December 26, 2010 dahil naging emosyonal ito sa kanyang acceptance speech.

MMFF: Ai-ai delas Alas: Gustong Manalong Best Actress sa Ang Tanging Ina Mo, Last Na To!

Ai-Ai De las Alas was in tears when she went out of the movie house after the premiere night of her film Ang Tanging Ina Mo, Last Na ‘To.

Ai-ai exclaimed:

“Napakasaya ko kasi ang sarap ng pakiramdam na lumabas ng sinehan na alam mong maganda ‘yung pelikulang napanood mo. Nakakataba ng puso na tumatawa talaga ‘yung mga tao. Nagsisigawan pa. ‘Yung tawa nila may kasamang palakpak. Ang galing galing talaga ni Uge (co-star Eugene Domingo). Pati na rin ‘yung mga anak ko.”
