Nagpalabas ng press statement ang kampo ni Claudine Barretto sa pamamagitan ng abogado nitong si Atty. Jimeno-Atienza kung saan ay magbibigay daw sila ng pabuya sa kung sinuman ang makapagpapakita ng kumpletong video ng nangyaring Thrilla in NAIA 3 last May 6, 2012.
Narito ang kabuuan ng press statement na binasa ni Atty. Jimeno-Atienza:
On behalf of our clients, spouses Raymart Santiago and Claudine Barretto, we would like to take proactive measures in order to address the alarming distortion of the truth currently misleading the Filipino public. We refer to the video circulating on the Internet, which gives the false impression that our clients and their companions instigated a brawl in NAIA 3 without prior physical provocation.
We would like to state in the most categorical terms that this was not the case. The video represents only the tail-end of an entire sequence of events – a mere fragment of the full story. To form any conclusions on this fleeting video would be highly unfair.
More than fairness, however, there is a need for the entire truth to come out. We have conducted our own investigation, and we know that there is a high probability that a number of people may have taken their own videos, capturing who really delivered the first violent blow. Moreover, it is even more likely that a greater number of them recorded the actual circumstances of how Ms. Barretto was kicked and pushed by a man.
Despite the fact that we are confident that truth will prevail, we recognize that the only way to counter a misleading video is to present a more thorough one. Given the personalities involved, we perfectly understand the fear and hesitation of those who may have in their possession any video of the incident.
As such, several of Raymart and Claudine's well-meaning friends pitched in among themselves, and are offering a monetary incentive to anyone who can provide a video documenting the events leading up to the scuffle. We assure you that all arrangements will be treated with utmost confidentiality and caution. Your identities will never be compromised, and as much as possible, personal appearances may not even be necessary.
