Ang dating mag-friendship na sina Kim Chiu at Maja Salvador ay friends no more na! Bahkeet? Itanong natin kay Gerald Anderson!
Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu had a colorful past and controversial breakup years ago. It was even rumored that Kim, in the midst of heartbreak, even attempted to take her own life by slashing her wrist. And Maja Salvador, her good friend was there, supporting and comforting her grief. But things take an interesting detour lately. Maja and Gerald were seen dating!
Kim Chiu regrets how her friendship with Maja Salvador got strained by her former flame Gerald Anderson's purported romantic intentions for the latter.
The young actress' dismay over the situation is driven not by bitterness over whatever goes on between Maja and Gerald - as she pointed out to reporters at the "Ina, Kapatid, Anak" Book 2 press conference - but by the fact that "'yung taong sinabihan ko nung time na down ako… eh parang kinain niya lang 'yung sinabi niya."
Although she was shocked by the turn of events ("'Di ba, parang, bakit?" she bluntly quipped at one point), Kim stressed that she's happy for the two.
"Wala naman pong masama, pareho naman po silang single at maging masaya na lang po tayo para sa kanilang dalawa. Nakakalungkot lang kasi 'yung friendship ay nasayang…," she added in the same presscon.
According to Kim, Maja sought her "permission" - although it was not made clear what it was exactly for.
"…Bakit kailangan pang magpaalam eh wala na ako kay Gerald… wala na talaga. Naano lang ako na ang daming taong nagtatanong sa akin about Gerald. Bakit? Tagal na, three years na, ang dami pang babaeng dumaan after ko, hindi lang ako," said she.
In spite of this test to their friendship, Kim said she and Maja are "okay," and that they can work professionally for their primetime series.
Kim likewise confessed that she has grown exasperated over queries about Gerald since she has long moved on from that chapter. The two last worked in the film "Till My Heartaches End" (2010) before briefly reuniting in "24/7 In Love" (2012), where she noted, "Hindi kami naging close [d'on]. We just did it for work."
Trying to hold back tears, she has this to say about Gerald and Maja:
"I don't care, I don't care about them, bahala na siya. She knows Gerald, who Gerald is."
Kim, however, wasn't able to exactly address the issue about "unfollowing" Maja on photo-sharing application Instagram.
She did impart a message to bashers of Maja and Gerald especially on social media.
"Tama na po... Kung nagmamahalan sila, kung anuman ang nararamdaman nila sa isa't isa, maging masaya na lang po tayo," said she.
