Jericho Rosales said that he is overflowing with happiness with the recent platinum award he received for his latest album Change under Star Records. “Masarap po ang pakiramdam, ang pagsuporta sa akin bilang singer, bilang writer. Alam mo ‘yon naging parte ako ng pag-produce ng album na ito and I have a very good partnership with Star Records andnagkaroon ng magandang bunga and ‘yun happyako,” the actor-singer related.
Jericho continued that his latest achievement has not yet really sunk in yet. He also admitted that a platinum award may not mean much for known singers but it means a lot for him, especially since it is a vindication of his potential to be a singer. “Kasi before andaming kumontra sa akin, kumbaga hindi ako suportado ng[100 percent] ng halos lahat.” The actor also added that even his supporters doubted if they would want to see him focus on his music career. “Butnagpapasalamat pa rin ako sa kanila, instead of [turning their backs on me] tinulungan pa rin nila ako, sinuportahan pa rin nila ako.
“Nagpapasalamat talaga ako mula sa puso ko sa lahat bumili ng album [at] pumili ng mga kanta, nag-download ng mga songs. I’m very happy, maraming maraming salamat talaga. It means a lot.”
Meantime, Jericho has another reason to celebrate because his show, I Dare You is posting high ratings. With co-hosts Iya Villania and Melai Cantiveros, the show features different celebrities every week, who swap places with common people to forget about their celebrity status and experience living normal lives.
Jericho described their show. “Sobrang hirap siyang gawin pero talagang pagkatapos ng bawat episodemararamdaman mo ‘yung fulfillment, mararamdaman mo ‘yung lessons pumapasok talaga sa puso at utak ng tao.”
He added that just like their guest celebrities, Jericho, Iya, and Melai feel that their show is enriching. “Kami ninaIya at Melai andami naming natututunan, nabi-build din ‘yung characters namin. So nacha-challenge din kami, naggu-grow kami as the show’s hosts at bilang tao. I’m so glad, so happy na tinanggap ko ‘yung show na ‘yon. Para sa akin ito pala ‘yung silbi ng nakaraan ko di ba meron akong naisip na kung ano ang nakaraan mo hindi ikaw ‘yon, isa lang yun sa mga parte na bumuo sa ‘yo.”
